Lync Administration
This lesson on Lync Administration focuses on the client software: the Microsoft Lync desktop app. We will discuss what the User can setup and manage on their computer. There are two aspects to this lesson: editing the options and managing Contacts.
Configure Lync
How does Lync determine your availability? Who can see your status, phone number or location?
Like all Microsoft Office software, Lync has options that you can edit. This lesson will begin with the General and Personal Lync Options. We will select a Personal Information Manager for Calendaring and automatic Status updates.
Conference Calls need video and sound, so this lesson will include how to setup the Audio and Video Devices. We will choose whether the default audio will be phone or Lync. We will also review the steps to add other phones, edit the Alerts, Ringtones and Sounds.
Manage Contacts
In addition to reviewing the options, we will look to manage the Lync Contacts by Groups. Groups are defined by Privacy Relationships that determine how much information is shared. So, there are some important considerations.
Let's get started.
The theme for this series is My Town. The downtown images were taken at the Mill Pond in Brighton, MI.
